Rod Rosenstein, known member of the Washington Swamp has been working tirelessly to obstruct justice and bypass congressional oversight. Rosenstein was ordered by congress to hand over documents to the House Intelligence Committee almost a year ago. Rosenstein was literally subpoenaed, and continues to break the law. He has now even gone so far as to start threatening people every chance he gets, Rosenstein continues to obstruct.

The battle for the documents began nearly a year ago when Congressman Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence committee, made his first official request for the documents and has since been continuously pushing for them to be released. They have tried to be patient but it’s wearing thin now. Reports have come out that Rosenstein has been threatening members of congress along their staff. Nunes has publicly stated that he’s used to it, and likes it, but it is unacceptable for Rosenstein to go after staff members and make them feel threatened.

Nunes also said that Rosenstein, and other top officials in the Justice Department and FBI would have “hell to pay” if they didn’t get the documents they requested within this week. House Speaker Paul Ryan, Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Nunes met on Friday with the leadership of the FBI and Justice Department over the House’s growing impatience on receiving requested documents. Justice officials agreed to hand these over to GOP House members documents this week, which Nunes interpreted to mean starting Monday.

Trey Gowdy told “Fox News Sunday” that Ryan informed the Justice Department and FBI that there will be consequences if the House doesn’t get the requested documents. “And Paul made it very clear: There’s going to be action on the floor of the House this week if the FBI and DOJ do not comply with our subpoena request,” Gowdy said. “So Rod Rosenstein, (FBI Director) Chris Wray, you were in the meeting. You understood him just as clearly as I did. We’re going to get compliance or the House of Representatives is going to use its full arsenal of constitutional weapons to gain compliance.”

Back in March, Goodlatte subpoenaed the Justice Department to obtain documents related to the Hillary Clinton email investigation, alleged surveillance abuses and conduct of top FBI officials. The total estimated number of records they would receive is about 1.2 million.

Not only has Rosenstein continually obstructed congress’s constitutional duty of oversight, but he also shouldn’t even be working for the DOJ in any capacity. We have learned, through the declassified Comey Memo, that Rosenstein was actually the same one who signed off on the now-highly controversial FISA warrant. The Foreign Inteligence Surveilance Act warrant should have never been issued. It’s only supposed to be used on those suspected of being spies for foreign countries within the United States. Their basis for opening

Rosenstein has thus far shown that he thinks he doesn’t have to be subjected to oversight. This  brash and out-of-touch way of thinking that will ultimately lead to the demise of Rosenstein. He cannot continue on this path. Justice will be served, and the truth will be found out. He even recently went so far as to imply that members of congress were trying to extort him.
