Highest-ranking New York cop Eric Schneiderman has officially turned in his resignation letter as of May 8th, 2018. This resignation comes in light of the recent allegations brought forth against him. These allegations claim that Attorney General Schneiderman slapped, smacked, spit on and choked at least four women against their wishes. Schneiderman has also been accused of sexually and racially demeaning his victims. These allegations were detailed by two of the victims in the hitpiece published by the New Yorker.

Schneiderman attempted to defend his name with the following statement: “In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity. I have not assaulted anyone.” The alleged victims, however, still maintain their accounts. These women also claim that they were encouraged by friends, and pressured by democratic officials, to not go public with the allegations. This is in stark contrast to the image normally put forth by leaders in the Democratic Party who claim they stand for Women’s Rights.

It’s hard to not see the irony when Schneiderman himself had become a figurehead in the “#MeToo” movement, a movement against sexual harassment and assault. Schneiderman’s rise to stardom within the movement came after he used his prosecutory powers as the New York Attorney General to prosecute Harvey Weinstein after Weinstein’s own sexual misdealings came to light. He even went so far as to fight for higher compensation for the victims accusing Weinstein.

Schneiderman, over the past two years, has became a real darling of the left after his many obstructionist actions against the president. Schneiderman opposed Trump on everything from his DACA plans, the travel ban, to even healthcare deregulations. In total, he had filed over 100 administrative actions against the president. Schneiderman also led 22 State Attorney Generals in a lawsuit to block the FCC’s repeal of failed protectionist program Net Neutrality.

The former AG has also been repeatedly dubbed by many on the left as the “leader of the resistance,”. Feminist Comedian Samantha Bee even went as far as to call him a “superhero.” Her now-canned episode included a whole animation which likened him to Spider-Man, but with the name “Schneider-Man.” It’s also worth mentioning that President Donald Trump predicted the plight of Schneiderman in his now-infamous tweet “Weiner is gone, Spitzer is gone – next will be lightweight A.G. Eric Schneiderman. Is he a crook? Wait and see, worse than Spitzer or Weiner”

Many see this news as a real tipping point against the Democratic Party, as their hypocrisy becomes more and more prevalent. Democrats are in a real panic as one of their leading national figures is exposed as the womanizer he really is. All of this is quite remarkable if you consider the fact that “Schneider-Man” made it a point to tout his prosecution of fellow pervert Harvey Weinstein, all while being one himself. Now-disgraced Schneiderman has deleted his social media accounts in hopes of hiding away from the world. This fundamental shift in momentum could finally be what’s needed to expose the elitist privilege and abuse of power in the Democratic Party. Republicans are now attempting to close in on Schneiderman’s former seat as Barbara Underwood takes over as acting Attorney General.
