A recent report produced by the GOP shows that Obama is a worse negotiator than anyone ever thought. Not only did Obama fly in over 400 million dollars in untraceable cash, in unmarked planes, he also gave Iran full access to our financial system in lieu of sanctions we had on them. The worst part was that he lied about it. The Obama administration continued to tell congress that there would be no exceptions for Iran, while doing the opposite behind closed doors.
The newly released GOP report shows that the Obama administration gave Iran “brief” access to the U.S. financial system as part of the terribly-negotiated Iran nuclear deal despite specifically telling Congress that such access would continue to remain banned under terms of the controversial agreement, a report released Wednesday by Senate Republicans reveal. “Officials repeatedly testified to Congress that Iranian access to the U.S. financial system was not on the table or part of any deal,” the majority report of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations goes on to say. Despite those claims, the Treasury Department, at the request of the Obama State Department, “granted a specific license that authorized a conversion of Iranian assets worth billions of U.S. dollars using the U.S. financial system,” the report says. Even after the license was issued, U.S. government officials continued to maintain in congressional testimony that Iran would not gain access to the U.S. system, according to the report.
Although it is claimed that the conversion to dollars never took place, and there is no claim that the license broke U.S. law, the Obama administration still lied to mislead Americans.. Most Republicans opposed the Iran deal, from which President Trump withdrew last month.
This report comes just a month after President Trump pulled us out of the Iranian Deal, because it was so terribly negotiated by the Obama administration. Obama agree to give Iran billions of dollars for their cooperation in signing the deal. Many see this as a sign of weakness and cowering to one of the world’s biggest state sponsors of terrorism. Trump believed the deal should have allowed international weapons inspectors to have greater access to Iranian military sites. As it stood, U.N. inspectors weren’t allowed into Iranian military bases. Trump has also hammered the deal for not covering Iran’s missile program and repeatedly emphasized the need to stop the country from developing an intercontinental ballistic missile.
This is just another example of how the Obama administration lied to congress and misled the American people. The Obama legacy continues to be exposed and dismantled by our current Commander-In-Chief. Odds are that Obama will be in trouble with regards to Spygate. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
