On Sunday when the New England Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl with 13-3 defeat against the Los Angeles Rams, it was a massive loss for Donald Trump haters. President Trump is a long-time supporter and fan of the Patriots and their quarterback Tom Brady.
Tom Brady won his sixth Super Bowl ring at 41 years old and the media could not have been in any less happy. With only one touchdown when the game was 53 minutes in and the Patriots reaching the end zone on Sony Michel’s 2-yard run. The game was incredibly long with no excitement on either end of both teams.
The mainstream left-wing media has to always turn everything political, ruining what’s supposed to be an enjoyable time gathered, watching with friends and family. Later on Sunday. The Daily Beast ran an article calling on the Boston sports fans and players, calling them racists for supporting President Trump.
From the Daily Beast piece:
The whole institution of Boston sports, from root to stem, is tinged with the sort of racism that brought Trump into office. The Boston Red Sox were the last MLB team to desegregate, more than a decade after Jackie Robinson entered the league. The Sox’s first owner, Tom Yawkey, was an infamous racist whose speech was peppered with racial slurs. Larry Bird became a symbol of white resentment during his time in the NBA, his jersey appearing as a symbol of white entitlement to black spaces in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing. His large teammate, Kevin McHale, was spotted at a Trump rally during the election.
The Daily Beasts rant did not end there:
He flashed a red MAGA hat, an accoutrement that is gaining more and more traction as a symbol of white nationalism in America, in his locker back in the primary days. He wasn’t the only one! Patriots’ Coach Bill Belichick wrote a goddamn letter to Trump right before the end of the campaign that basically amounted to an endorsement, that Trump then read on stage. And Pats’ owner Robert Kraft is also his pal, and was even shouted out at Trump’s pre-Inauguration dinner in D.C. for his most deep-pocketed donors.
The Daily Beast wasn’t alone in attacking Tom Brady, Patriots supporters and Boston fans in general over Trump.
On Saturday CNN ran a piece calling the Patriots “most hated team of all time”
Trump and Brady have had a close relationship for many years. Tom Brady known to be a Trump supporter, was heard at one point yelling “Reagan!” sending the game to the right, appearing to be a homage to late President Ronald Reagan:
With Sunday night’s victory over the Rams, Brady is officially the greatest quarterback in history– with a now six-year victory. Post-game Brady mentioned this wasn’t the end for him signaling a return for next year. In a political sense, this was a victory for Trump supporters.
