Protests regarding law that protects Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu from prosecution for corruption

By Penny Hoffmann

Outside a Tel Aviv museum, a pro-democracy protest was held by Israeli opposition leaders.

This protest opposed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent re-election for his fifth term and reportedly accused him of desiring to implement legislation that protects him from prosecution for corruption.

Opposition parties stated that Netanyahu can not continue to be Israel’s prime minister if he is charged for fraud and bribery after he received allegations of corruption.

According to NBC News, on the 28th of February 2019, Netanyahu rejected allegations of corruption:

“The left applied bullish pressure, relentless, i would even say inhuman, on the attorney general in order to make him say that he is considering indicting me pending a hearing even though it’s clear there is nothing, in order to influence the elections, even though he knows this house of cards will collapse after the elections.

“Since the attorney general is just a human, the pressure of the left worked.

“I tell you the citizens of Israel, this house of cards will collapse.

“I am absolutely certain. I am certain of it 4,000 percent.

“I plan on serving you and the state as prime minister for many years.”

According to RT, “He stands accused of possible crimes against humanity because a UN independent commission has ruled that his UK armed soldiers used live ammunition to fire on 6,000 unarmed protesters without justification”.

In the UN commission of inquiry into 2018 protests, Chair Santiago Canton stated that “the commission has found reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Security Forces committed serious violations of human rights of international humanitarian law.”

Netanyahu’s corruption allegations include:

Case 1000 Indictment

Netanyahu was accused of receiving nearly $200,000 worth of gifts, reportedly mainly boxes of cigars for “his personal use”, from wealthy businessmen in exchange for favors.

He also reportedly received bottles of champagne for his wife.

Two of these businessmen include owner of Consolidated Press Holdings Limited Australian James Packer and Israeli film producer Arnon Milchan.

Case 2000 Indictment

Netanyahu was accused of conspiring to get more news coverage in his favor by collaborating with Arnon “Noni” Mozes, the publisher of the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, in exchange for weaker legislation for the newspaper to beat a competing newspaper.

Attorney general Avichai Mandelblit stated the following, according to i24NEWS English:

“Even though you did not request and did not accept the proposal, you did not reject Moses’ proposal, but you continued to lead the matter, promoting the legislation, including ideas you raised during the election period, even though you did not intend to advance the legislation.”

Case 4000 Indictment

Case 4000 is another indictment that regards Netanyahu desiring more media coverage that is in his favor.

It is alleged that Netanyahu reportedly conspired to get “regulatory benefits for Shaul Elovich, owner of Bezeq Telecommunications Company, in exchange for favourable news coverage on his website”, according to i24NEWS English.

According to attorney general Avichai Mandelblit, “in essence, a “give and take” relationship was established between Elovich and Netanyahu:

“On the one hand, Elovich slanted the coverage in Walla to Netanyahu, in an irregular manner, so it will benefit him and companies under his control, including Bezeq, and on the other hand, Netanyahu, using his governmental and executive power in the regulatory field, to benefit Bezeq.”

Australian Labor Party’s “extreme abortion plans this election”

By Penny Hoffmann

According to Ten News Australia, the Australian Labor Party has recently pushed for uniformed pregnancy termination laws, and billions of dollars of Commonwealth cash could be withheld from the states in an attempt to make it easier for women to access publicly funded abortions.

According to The Guardian, “In March, Labor pledged to work towards full decriminalization of abortion, open a reproductive health clinic to offer terminations in Tasmania, and require public hospitals to provide termination services”.

ABC News reported that Federal Labor is promising commonwealth funding for a Tasmanian abortion clinic and is using commonwealth funding to pressure all states and territories to make abortions more readily available in public hospitals.

ABC News also stated that the Tasmanian Government has agreed with a women’s health centre to “provide low-cost abortions”:

“In November, the Government revealed it had come to an agreement with Hampton Park Women’s Health Centre to provide low-cost abortions.

“The state had been without a low-cost service for nearly a year, after the previous private provider pulled out of the state because of a lack of demand.

“Despite the November announcement, Hampton Park Women’s Health Centre still has not begun offering services in Tasmania because the earmarked Hobart building needs work before it will be suitable for the clinic.”

Jo Flanagan from Women’s Health Australia stated that it was a confusing process for Tasmanian women to get abortions and outlined what the women’s health centre wanted to change about it:

“Our main concern is that women get access to the service, whether it’s done by a Tasmanian doctor or a Victorian doctor is of less concern to us.

“But what we ideally would want from any provider is a clear map for GPs, [saying] ‘this is what you tell women, this is where they go, this is the number to ring’, and we don’t even have that at the moment.”

Queensland’s Labor government announced on July 16th 2018 that it would introduce laws that decriminalize abortion in Queensland.

Deputy Premier for QLD Jackie Trad, MP for Griffith Terri Butler and Labor candidate for Dickson Ali France featured in a group photo with other protesters that held up signs stating “Labor for Choice” and “My Body My Choice”:

Cherish Life Queensland (CLQ) reportedly aims to “educate the community on life issues, advocate (lobby all levels of government on life and death issues) and resource the community”.

According to its website, the group, formerly known as “Queensland Right to Life”, began as a reaction to American life issues, and is the first pro-life group in Australia and has spread to other states.

CLQ claims that it is not politically aligned with any party; it reaches out to anyone who will or will not listen in an attempt to promote being pro-life.

The Guardian reported the following:

The executive director of Cherish Life, Teeshan Johnson, has advertised her support for the Liberal party with an “I stand with Scott [Morrison]” filter on her Facebook profile.

Cherish Life has posted speeches from Liberal senator Amanda Stoker on its Facebook page, and Liberal National party MP George Christensen has addressed events, including the March for Life in September.

The real question for this matter is whether Teeshan Johnson and Cherish Life supported the liberal party in those instances because the Liberal Party is more likely to be pro-life, or whether both supported the Liberal party in those instances because both support more of the Liberal Party’s works.

Third World Countries responsible for 95% of Plastic Pollution in The Ocean

Plastic polluting the ocean has been a relative issue since the 1960s. Throughout time pollution of our waters have became worse. There are five Asian Nations that are the cause of majority, of the plastic pollution in the ocean: China, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. These third world countries are massively dumping great amounts of plastic; more plastic than the rest of the world. Indonesia’s Citarum River is considered to be one of the most pollute river in the world. This matter has become so crucial and so urgent that the Army had to be called to remove the plastic waste and prevent dumping in the waterway.

Plastic polluting the ocean is not just a problem that belongs to Asia. It is not a problem that Asia should face alone. This is one of the greatest environmental challenge facing the entire world and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. According to South China Morning Post, Hong Kong goes through 5.2 million plastic water bottles a day. Since 2008 Hong Kong has thrown away over 12 billion plastic bottles.

It has been reported that a third of a 1.67 million tons of domestic waste disposed in Singapore, consisted mainly of plastic bags and food packaging. The amount is enough to fill more than one thousand Olympic size swimming pools. The Asian Nations have been importing waste from around the Globe.

Plastic Polluting the worlds ocean come from these then Rivers:

According to Dailymail, pollution costs 7.9 billion in damage to Marines ecosystems. Approximately one million sea birds, one hundred thousand sea mammals and hundreds of fishes are killed.

There needs to be an awareness created for this global issue. Once the awareness has been created, we the people must take action and do anything and everything necessary to stop and prevent this problem. This is effecting all sorts of ecosystem, marine life and sea life.

FORMER AUSSIE PM RUDD: UK trading with the Commonwealth to make up for leaving the EU is “utter bollockS”

By Penny Hoffmann

Kevin Rudd, the 26th former Prime Minister of Australia, is sometimes a quite the unprofessional politician like many of Australia’s choices. Among various situations he has put himself in from being so down-to-earth, he has become a bit of a cheeky fella in the news and on the political stage for playing handball with school kids, needing a fitness instructor to lift him up for chin ups, being caught eating his ear wax during Question Time, and saluting George W. Bush at a NATO summit which “was just uhh… it was just a joke”.

Mr. Rudd’s take on brexit will surely ruffle the feathers of many brexiteers.

Rudd tweeted the following on March 11:

“With the clock ticking down to Brexit Day, here are my arguments in the London Guardian on why Britain should remain in the European Union. In contrast to Howard, Abbott and Downer cheering on the Brexiteers – all to reconstitute a British imperial rump.”

He stated in a recent article by The Guardian that swapping the current Britain-European Union trade agreement and relationship with a Britain-Commonwealth one is “the nuttiest of the many nutty arguments that have emerged from the Land of Hope and Glory set now masquerading as the authentic standard-bearers of British patriotism”:

“I’m struck, as the British parliament moves towards the endgame on Brexit, with the number of times Australia, Canada, New Zealand and India have been advanced by the Brexiteers in the public debate as magical alternatives to Britain’s current trade and investment relationship with the European Union. This is the nuttiest of the many nutty arguments that have emerged from the Land of Hope and Glory set now masquerading as the authentic standard-bearers of British patriotism. It’s utter bollocks.”

Rudd stated that Britain should remain in the European Union, and that “Labour and the Conservative remainers should unite to defer the exit date beyond 29 March 2019. They should then support legislation for a second referendum”.

Kevin Rudd describes brexit as a suicide note that will leave a large mark in world history:

“If Britain proceeds with giving effect to what future historians will legitimately describe as the longest suicide note in history by leaving the union, the cold, hard reality is that the mathematics simply don’t stack up in terms of credible economic alternatives to Europe. Much as any Australian, Canadian and New Zealand governments of whichever persuasion would do whatever they could to frame new free-trade agreements with the UK, the bottom line is that 65 million of us do not come within a bull’s roar of Britain’s adjacent market of 450 million Europeans.”

Remaining in the EU, according to Rudd, would benefit Britain economically and politically because authoritarians around the world seek to bring down the unification of Europe on things such as values, thus weakening the west.

Rudd supports a second referendum because it offers “a clear, informed choice between two tangible, concrete proposals: either voting for Theresa May’s deal, or for Britain to remain in the Union. That’s when I believe Britons’ native common sense, as well as their wider sense of international responsibility, would ultimately prevail”.

Rudd described Australian (“Oz”) brexiteers as having a goal of returning to old Anglo-Saxon times:

“They too, like the core of the British Brexiteers, are driven by a conservative political romanticism that we can all somehow go back to that ancient Arcadia of a white Anglo-Saxon world with “imperial preference”, all consummated by the solemnity of a Lord’s Test.”

Brexit day is scheduled for the 29th of March, 2019.

Exposing the players ruins the game: how symbolism conceals the world’s deepest secrets

By Penny Hoffmann

If one desires to communicate something essential to others, but not to one’s enemy, concealing the message is important. Only those who are educated on the context of the message can truly understand it.

There are many ways that humans communicate and understand each other. These include; verbal methods such as via audio (such as speech face-to-face or on radios); non-verbal methods such as via signs, symbols, eye contact, tone, and text.

Improper usage of punctuation, spelling, tone, definitions, and other facets that relate to the context of dialogues or monologues by the sender will negatively impact the message for the receiver. Improper communication can be and is adopted by those who deliberately or accidentally hide the truth from others.

The term “symbol” is defined by Oxford Living Dictionaries as “a mark or character used as a conventional representation of an object, function, or process, e.g. the letter or letters standing for a chemical element or a character in musical notation.” Symbols that were created long, long ago are still used to this day, whose meanings may not be understood by most of the humans of today.

German indologist and linguist Heinrich Zimmer states in his book Signs and Symbols that a symbol is “a visual image or sign representing an idea — a deeper indicator of a universal truth”, and elaborates further:

“Concepts and words are symbols, just as visions, rituals, and images are; so too are the manners and customs of daily life. Through all of these a transcendent reality is mirrored. There are so many metaphors reflecting and implying something which, though thus variously expressed, is ineffable, though thus rendered multiform, remains inscrutable. Symbols hold the mind to truth but are not themselves the truth, hence it is delusory to borrow them. Each civilisation, every age, must bring forth its own.”

One theory that is debated by many is that Ancient Egypt, being the earliest known location to have built the foundations for anatomical science, named parts of the human body after astrology. This, if true, was most-likely from Egyptian religious influence:

“The overwhelming majority of Egyptologists seem to not be familiar with the details of the age-old Hindu tradition surrounding the Third Eye. It should, therefore, come as no surprise that they seem largely unaware of the Third Eye’s central importance in the Egyptian religion.

The Third Eye is a key concept in Hinduism’s Kundalini Yoga, which teaches initiates to “balance” or “unify” our lunar ida left-bodily side with our solar pingala right-bodily side.

This “balance” or “unity” of our twin opposing natures makes us whole again—just as the balance or unity of China’s twin opposing Yin and Yang halves completes the perfect circle.

This “balance” or “unity” also awakens a serpentine power, which rises up our spine (through seven invisible “chakras” or energy centers) and activates a Third Eye hidden in our foreheads.”

Thus, things that may seem like they aren’t symbolic may have hidden meanings that are known by only those who understand the message properly.

Secrets are valuable for many reasons; to name a few, secrets protect and reveal identities, reputations, build and break apart relationships, and prevent justice or injustice. But secrets conceal the truth, and truth is the remedy to much of the world’s problems.

Conservative vs. Leftist Agendas

Majority of people, generally desire a government body that has good morals and values. Most citizens when asked don’t want to see corruption from within their government and hope that their best interests are put first. We should desire a country where we are provided with freedom and liberty. Overall, Americans should be fighting for the well-being of this country no matter what party you identify with.

Leftist Views

Left Wing beliefs and ideologies have impacted and changed our society in numerous ways these past years, to some positively and to others negatively. The Left believe in gender fluidity, which is the idea that any person can identify themselves as any gender at any point in their lives including identifying as having no-gender. Same sex marriage the now legal right of marriage between same sex couples is another belief that has impacted the world. At many times The Left can be Totalitarians, they censor and restrict freedom of speech and freedom of expression when one does not agree with their beliefs. Even economy is affected as Socialism grows popular among leftists for this country. They oppose Western Civilization and believe it is a euphemism for white supremacy and founded on racism. They strongly believe that the Conservative and Republican Parties are racist. Abortion which is strongly supported by the Left has evolved into infanticide, it is now legal to abort a child up to birth and after birth. Responsibility is not something the Left is big on, they prefer a society served with an expanded role of the government, a society in full control by the Government. They’d like Free healthcare, free public education, more welfare, and unemployment benefits even for illegal aliens. Taxes should be higher for the people; especially the wealthy, businesses should be regulated and persecuted. One of many ideologies they have is open boarders where immigrants from anywhere should be allowed in this country without question. There should be no border security, all are free to come and stay without going through the legal process of becoming citizens. They deserve the same benefits as legal immigrants and natural born citizens.

Conservative Views

A Party that also shapes and influences this country from the beginning is the Conservative Party and their ideologies. Their held values are shared across America: Conservatives believe in protecting our country the same way you’d protect your home. They stand for border security and making sure this country stay’s safe from invasion, dangerous criminals, and those who would abuse our system. Conservatives do support legal immigration and support the legal process of becoming a citizen. Very different from leftist views, conservatives believe and stand for traditional marriage; a union between a man and a woman. They believe that the government should have limited control and power over the people; less dependency on the government for survival. Society achievements are best when individual rights and civil liberties are paramount. Capitalism is beloved by conservatives who believe a free market provides healthy competition to Medicare from private insurance companies; oppose government provided universal healthcare and Affordable Care Act. Conservative’s highly support lowering taxes and having less regulations on businesses so that lower economical areas where Small owned businesses are formed can help the economy prosper. Abortion is opposed by this party. The killing of a child is morally wrong. They believe life begins at conception and that the process should not be executed, All lives matter. Mainly Conservatives love and support our Western Civilization and are greatly patriotic .

Although most people believe we’re separated by Parties, I think it is needed in government in order to bring ideas together and engage in peaceful debates. Solutions to many problems can be fixed and a society like no other with God first could be achieved. A society that has values and morals and puts the well-being of our country first is where we should live. Both parties should stick to the main agenda, the most important one and that is to care about America and its people. Inform yourself in what certain groups believe in and what their ideology is, do they have your best interest at heart? There should only be one goal no matter the side of the aisle, to care about the well-being of all Americans economically, politically and socially.

Foreign Aid: what it is, some of the controversies surrounding it, and where the U.S sends aid the most

By Penny Hoffmann

Foreign aid is a controversial topic for many reasons. One objection to foreign aid is that it can be delivered to the wrong people on purpose or accidentally (for example, theft). However, giving aid can produce many benefits: it can improve the relations between nations and rebuild living standards.

What is Foreign Aid?

Foreign aid refers to humanitarian, international, and usually inter-governmental figures or groups that give economic, military, financial or technical resources, such as weapons, to a nation or nations. This aid can be in many forms, such as bilateral or multilateral.

Some examples of aid programs include George Marshall’s Marshall Plan that began in 1948, the Point Four Program, and the UK’s Commonwealth Development Fund.

This is how the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development defines Official Development Assistance (ODA):

“ODA consists of flows to developing countries and multilateral institutions provided by official agencies, including state and local governments, or by their executive agencies, each transaction of which meets the following test: a) it is administered with the promotion of the economic development and welfare of developing countries as its main objective, and b) it is concessional in character and contains a grant element of at least 25% (calculated at a rate of discount of 10%).”

In order for foreign aid to work, it must cater to the climate of the receiver of the aid. This means that the hardships of the suffering location or the receiver of the aid must be analyzed to select the correct type of aid and to deliver it at the appropriate time. The objectives of the aid must be specified and the most suitable solutions must be chosen to ensure that the aid will not be given to the wrong people or area that needs improving.

Foreign aid can be used to improve the conduct of allies, to reward a nation for its conduct, or to eventually get a repayment of some sort from the nation receiving the aid.

Types of Foreign Aid

Bilateral Aid

Bilateral aid involves two nations where one government sends aid to another government.

Multilateral Aid

Multilateral is where funding is delivered by two or more nations to international organisations such as the World Bank (also called the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) or the International Monetary Fund who have the role of improving suffering nations.

Tied Aid

Tied aid is a bilateral agreement where the donor nation delivers a loan or grant to the nation receiving it, but specify the nation in which the funding is spent.

Project Aid

Project aid is given to improve a certain project, such as a school.

Military Aid

Military aid is where a nation delivers weapons and the like to nations

Voluntary Aid

Voluntary aid usually refers to charity. One example of this is Doctors Without Borders, “an international humanitarian non-governmental organization best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries affected by endemic diseases.”

Who Gives The Most Aid

According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, these nations gave the most Official Development Assistance (ODA) in total in 2015:

Foreign aid: These countries are most generous

However, when considering it as a percentage of gross national income (GNI), the ranking order of the countries is different:

Foreign aid: These countries are most generous

The top ten recipients of U.S foreign aid in 2018 are as follows:

10. Iraq – $347.9 million

9. Nigeria – $419.1 million

8. Zambia – $428.9 million

7. Uganda – $436.4 million

6. Tanzania – $535.3 million

5. Kenya – $639.4 million

4. Afghanistan – $782.8 million

3. Jordan – $1 billion

2. Egypt – $1.39 billion

1. Israel – $3.1 billion

Current Foreign Aid Controversies

There are academic disagreements regarding the efficiency of giving foreign aid. These include; the factors that influence the economic efficiency of foreign aid; whether aid should be measured empirically; whether aid should be given to non-government organisations and groups, rather than governments, who then improve the economy from the bottom up; the opposite, top-down approach by delivering aid to governments, the World Bank, and the UN who rebuild suffering nations; and whether aid givers truly know what is needed by aid receivers.

Nikola Tesla Was Against Feminism?

By Penny Hoffmann

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) is known as a Serbian American inventor and engineer. What many may not know about him are his views on feminism.

In an interview for a 1924 news article by Galveston Daily News titled “Mr.Tesla Explains Why He Will Never Marry: Famous Scientist Felt Unworthy of Woman as She Used To Be, and Now He Can’t Endure Her Trying to Outdo the Men”, Tesla states that women who try to compete with men by taking on male roles are making themselves inferior:

“I had always thought of woman, as possessing those delicate qualities of mind and soul that made her in these respects far superior to man. I had put her on a lofty pedestal, figuratively speaking, and ranked her in certain important attributes considerably higher than man. I worshiped at the feet of the creature i raised to this height, and, like every true worshiper, i felt myself unworthy of the object of my worship. But all this was in the past. Now the soft-voiced gentle woman of my reverent dreams has all but vanished. In her place has come the woman who thinks that her chief success in life relies in making herself as much as possible like man – in dress, voice, actions, sports and achievements of every kind.”

Tesla also states that the feminist movement where females abandon their gender roles and become more masculine is a sign of the downfall of a civilization:

“Women, are becoming stronger than men, both physically and mentally. The world has experienced many tragedies, but to my mind the greatest tragedy of all is the present economic condition wherein women strive against men, and in many cases actually succeed in upsurping their places in the professions and in industry. This growing tendency of women to overshadow the masculine is a sign of a deteriorating civilization.”

Men have desired to reach for the stars because they are inspired by the woman they fancy, mothers, or just any female figure in their life that believes in them:

“Woman’s determined competition with man in the business world is breaking down some of the best traditions – things which have proved the moving factors in the world’s slow but substantial progress. Practically all the great achievements of man until now have been inspired by his love and devotion to woman. Man has aspired to great things because some woman believed in him, because he wished to command her admiration and respect.”

Vessels have historically been named after women for the same reason, but were alternatively named after goddesses and other historical figures with the idea of safety and protection so the vessel survives whatever journey it undergoes.

Tesla then explains further about how men would self-sacrifice when working to serve women, and that, maybe, the male in society is useless. If women agree with this, then, Tesla believes, the worst of the world’s human history is taking place:

“For these reasons he has fought for her and risked his life and his all for her time and time again. Perhaps the male in human society is useless. I am frank to admit that i don’t know. If women are beginning to feel this way about it, and there is striking evidence at hand that they do, then we are entering upon the cruelest period of the world’s history. Our civilization will sink into a state like that which is found among the bees, ants and other insects – a state wherein the male is ruthlessly killed off. In this matriarchal empire which will be established the female rules. As the female predominates, the males are at her mercy. The male is considered important only as a factor in the scheme of the continuity of life.”

Tesla states that, when women see themselves as independent from man in terms of her breaking gender norms in the business world and not wanting to co-operate, this limits man’s ability to be independent:

“The tendency of women to push aside man, supplanting the old spirit of cooperation with him in all the affairs of life, is very disappointing to me. Woman’s independence and her cleverness in obtaining what she wants in the business world is breaking down man’s spirit of independence. The old fire he once experienced at being able to achieve something that would compel and hold a woman’s devotion is turning to ashes. Women don’t seem to want that sort of thing today. They appear to want to control and govern. They want man to look up to them, instead of their looking up to him. Conditions abroad suggest that the same tendency is worldwide.”

Tesla states that women are the victim when choosing this behavior, not the victor as what they imagine to be:

“I am considering this question not merely from the standpoint of a man, i am thinking of the woman’s side of it. As we contemplate any change, we naturally take into consideration the results that may follow such an innovation. One of the results to my mind is quite a pathetic one. Woman, herself, is really the victim of, as she thinks, the victor. Contentment is absent from her life. She is ambitious, often far beyond her natural equipment, to attain the thing she wants. She too frequently forgets that all women cannot be prima donnas and motion picture stars. Woman’s discontent makes the life of the present day still more over-stressed. The high pitch given to existence by people who are restless and dissatisfied because they fail to achieve things wholly out of proportion to the health and talent with which Nature has endowed them is a bad thing for the world.”

Because women will be the victims instead of victors, women will not be happy:

“It seems to me that women are not particularly happy in this newly found freedom, in this new competition which they are waging so persistently against men in business and even in sport. The question that naturally arises is, whether the women themselves are the gainers or the losers. It seems to me that anything which adds to the great discontent which we observe on every side to-day must be a bad influence on out life. Women who keep themselves agitated by their tremendous ambition to beat man at his game are losing at the same time something that counts for more in the end, than the empty honors that success in business or one of the professions can ever give.”

Because of corruption and tricksters, Tesla does not choose to conform with the general public:

“Discontent makes for cranks and unnatural people. There seems to be an uncommon number of them about today. This is one of the reasons i remain apart from the crowds. The public, or semi-public, character is the target for all sorts of attacks and unpleasant communications. For example, i used to receive all sorts of strange notes, many of them letters from cranks threatening my life, because they have read about my experiments in manufacturing lightning bolts. They wrote that they believed i was using these lightning flashes to kill them!”

Tesla states there are many examples of women who do not compete or try to outdo men that become great influencers:

“The power of the true woman is so great that i believe if a beautiful woman – that is to say, one beautiful in spirit, in manner and in thought, in fact, beautiful in every respect, a sort of goddess – were to appear suddenly on earth, she could command the whole world. Her leadership, i believe, would be universally recognized. History has given us many examples of the wonderful influence exerted by unusual women. Among these have been the mothers of great men. But their influence lay not in their determination to outdo man, or even to compete with him. Perhaps because woman is a finer and more highly sensitized instrument she knows by instinct her power and understands that the extent of it lies in the high position she takes for herself. But the superior never descends to the level of the commonplace.”

The Empty Promise of Socialism, and its Neglected History

Socialism is an economic theory which promises equality, but ends in widespread poverty and suffering. In a socialist country, the leader has control over the means of production, and where those products are then distributed. In other words, socialism is tyranny, and thievery. As shown plenty of times throughout history, socialism has failed time and again, and resulted in world war, poverty, murder, civil-wars, and countless inhumane crimes.

At the turn of the 20th Century, nearly the entire western world moved toward socialism, each head of state going about it in their own way. From 1900 to 1920, when numerous heads of states implemented socialism at varying degrees, the first world war broke out. Eventually, in the latter years of the 20th Century, because of socialism that was still being implemented and tried, we had a second world war, a cold war, and numerous civil wars. Below are some prominent figures during those times, and some historical facts of what they did in the name of socialism:

Vladimir Lenin – Overthrew the government in 1917 by building an army of common folk, popularly named Bolsheviks, aka, Red Army. The uprising plunged the country into a 3-year civil war. During that time, Vladimir seized control of all manufacturing and industry in the country, using the surplus grain from peasants to feed his Red Army. Because of this state-owned economy, industrial and economical output, plummeted. The nation was thrust into poverty, as 5 million died from starvation in 1921. Also, in 1918, in the span of about a month, Lenin caused his secret police to murder 100,00 members that were oppositional to his power.

Kaiser Wilhelm – The German Emperor and King of Prussia from 1888 – 1918: Kaiser waged war to spread marxist socialism. He was one of the most recognizable names in World War l, and a large factor in the cause to the war. About 37 million casualties died during the war, including civilians and military personnel.

Woodrow Wilson – President of the United States, 1913  – 1921: Woodrow implemented a softer form of socialism with the Underwood Simmons Act. This act imposed a Federal Income Tax, which took a percentage of every individuals’ earnings, as well as created a system that regulated the nation’s bank, and revenue supplies. The act took money out of the pockets of the common folk, giving it straight to the government. With time, this act actually damaged businesses in America, and hurt its citizens. FDR followed in Wilson’s footsteps, with much of the same progressive, socialist ideas.

Mao Zedong – Chairman to the Communist Party of China, 1949 – 1976: Zedong also waged wars to spread marxist socialism. He alone killed 45 million in only four years. According to an expert with access to official communist documents, he qualifies for the greatest mass murderer in world history.

Joseph Stalin – General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, 1943 – 1953 – Joseph reigned in terror, killing an estimated 20 million of his own people in the name of socialism. Once he gained power, he collectivized farming and had his political enemies executed or sent to forced labor camps(Gulags). In 1939, Stalin and Hitler signed a nonaggression pact on the eve of World War ll.

The implementation of socialism of these individuals showed a power grab from the major powers of the world, gaining traction on their people or other nations. It is no mere coincidence that the whole world shifted toward socialism in the 20th Century, and that, that was the most war torn and death ridden era in the history of the world.

With the rise in socialist beliefs among millennials, and three democratic socialists in office, the possibility of socialism rising in the States, is increasing. The new green deal, set forth by Alexandria Cortez, has underlying socialist aspects. Part of the deal is the partial government control of farmlands, and currency, which has been presented in the name of equality.

Socialism is tyranny. Socialism is control, and the forfeit of freedom. Socialism leads to national poverty. Socialism ends with starvation and death.

We must not give place for the enemy of the people any longer. We must educate the rising generations, and stand up to our propagandized education system.

Chemtrails, Operation Snow White, Operation Mockingbird, Operation Midnight Climax, Watergate, and Project Montauk

Operation Midnight Climax

Operation Midnight Climax is a CIA program where U.S citizens were victims of psychotropic drug testing and experimental torture in order for the CIA to develop mind control and interrogation techniques. The project began in the 1950’s and was a response to Soviets trying to develop the same mind control tools. The CIA admitted that their Director, Richard Helms, destroyed nearly all MKUltra evidence in 1973.

Operation Mockingbird

Operation Mockingbird is a scandal where the CIA employed and compensated journalists at media companies who, in return, collected information from and disseminated information to the public via news coverage. Reportedly, the CIA did this because journalists had access to places where the CIA could not enter.

Watergate

Watergate is a U.S scandal that resulted in the resignation of at-the-time President Richard Nixon. The plan by the Committee for the Re-election of the President (CRP) was to infiltrate the Democratic National Committee (DNC) offices of the Watergate Hotel and steal documents and the like in order to win the election. The burglars were caught the second time they broke in. Watergate is about the cover-up, not the burglary. Nixon had tapes which were requested by the courts, but he refused to hand them over, citing executive privilege. The tapes were checked and released in 1974. An 18-minute erased section and the revelation that some involved in the break in had received compensation for their work raised suspicions. The “smoking gun” tape revealed that Nixon knew about the cover-ups since mid-1972. Nixon was then forced to step down or face impeachment. He chose to resign.

Operation Snow White

In 1966, the Church of Scientology infiltrated the U.S government in an attempt to protect the interests of Scientology by finding and purging government information relating to their church or the founder, El Ron Hubbard. Up to 5,000 operatives infiltrated up to 130 branches of the U.S government over the next decade. Then the Church of Scientology successfully sued and harmed the reputation of the IRS for not recognizing Scientology as a religion and not giving them a tax-exempt status.

Chemtrails

Chemtrails are the white tails behind planes. Ut is suggested by some that they are government-planted mind-control spray chemicals that are expelled to fall onto the public. Two main theories that conspiracy theorists believe is evidence are the long-lasting trails and the analysis of water and soil that would absorb the chemicals as they fall to the ground.

Project Montauk

Project Montauk began in 1943 when the destroyer U.S.S. Eldridge traveled through space and time in a top secret US government invisibility project to foil radar. This is known as the “Philadelphia Experiment”. When the destroyer returned, many of the sailors were damaged physically and mentally. Dr Neumann, a mathematical genius and inventor of the modern computer, continued the Philadelphia Experiment to find out why inter-dimensional travel for humans is harmful to them. Brookhaven National Laboratories, located on Long Island, became his base. To finance his work, he was sponsored by the Military Industrial and Congressional Complex. He also had access to an advanced database of Nazi psychological research. Neumann created a virtual mind reading machine that allowed psychics to implant thoughts to control them. The project ended in 1983.

FAKE NEWS: An In-Depth Analysis of the Role of the Media and it’s Corruption

By Penny Hoffmann

The media has a huge responsibility as they shape public opinion and affects history. By reporting on or ignoring events, the media contributes to the historical record. Fake news can lead to uprisings that may not even be necessary because the problem doesn’t exist.

In the words of famous author George Orwell in his novel 1984:

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”

Sadly, many are unaware as to how the media works. Critical thinking in relation to the media, particularly in terms of how information is collected and reported on, needs to be encouraged.

In historian Louis Gottschalk’s book titled “Understanding History”, the information collection process is explained:

“Only a part of what was observed in the past has been remembered by those who observed it; only a part of what was remembered was recorded; only a part of what was recorded has survived; only a part of what has survived has come to the historian’s attention; only a part of what has come to their attention is credible; only a part of what is credible has been grasped; and only a part of what has been grasped can be expounded or narrated by the author.”

Prerecorded interviews have many advantages that mostly benefit the media. Editing quotes in interviews makes news reporting flow better and makes those involved look better, but nonetheless it manipulates what people have said. Important points can be left out.

An example of the media editing quotes via prerecorded interviews includes Isaac Butterfield’s interview on The Project in New Zealand.

Isaac Butterfield, an Australian YouTuber and comedian, featured on The Project New Zealand after Facebook took down his video, ‘The Actual Difference Between Australia and New Zealand’, because it was deemed to be racist.

In the interview, Isaac mentions the comedic nature of his video:

“These were polite jabs at the beautiful country of New Zealand.”

One of the hosts tried to dramatize Butterfield’s original video by asking if his content is suitable for his seven-year-old daughter:

“Do you target a specific audience, Isaac? I mean, do you worry who sees the videos? Would it be suitable for my seven-year-old daughter for instance?”

This was Butterfield’s response:

“Ah certainly not. But you as a parent should be in control of what your seven-year-old is watching. There’s far worse things on the internet than poor bearded old me.”

Isaac, in his YouTube video response, discussed the problem with prerecorded interviews; the footage can be edited to make the hosts and anyone the media likes have a better reputation:

“Now you may be wondering… that lady called me a jerk and i just said ‘thanks guys’ and smiled politely. That’s not how it actually happened, that’s an edit. I did hit her back with something, some type of joke, i can’t remember. I should have recorded it just for these type of purposes but, this is the thing with TV, is that they can edit it to make them look fantastic.”

Butterfield also discussed speaking time limits and how they do not capture the interviewee’s full view:

“So there’s a few things that annoyed me about that, was the way they spoke about me when i was off there and didn’t actually let me speak my mind on those certain subjects. Only having a minute and thirty seconds to get my point across… that’s just never going to happen.”

Before these interview even occur, those involved are told what they can and can’t say.

an Australian YouTuber known as “FriendlyJordies”, political commentator and comedian, called out the mainstream media and corporations masquerading as media for making irrelevant jokes and dodging important situations that nations face.

“You know what the media doesn’t do a lot of reporting on? Things that matter. Things that could affect, to quote that German Springfield historian, “you and your children and your children’s children.”

Newspaper journalism is also clearly not exempt from editing. During interviews, notes are either recorded via audio or a notepad. Newspapers are usually heavily structured in terms of the placement of photos, the word limit for the title, byline and general information, for aesthetic purposes. Editors review the articles that their journalists write and make the final alterations before publishing occurs.

To elaborate further, photos are placed in a sequence in order to prevent your eyes from running off the page. Poses by the interviewees for photos (smiles, handshakes, positioning of flags), camera angle, tweaking of photos via Photoshop for example, and choice of background all usually suit the desires of the writer and editor.

It is important to recognize corruption in the media because of it’s important role it has in regards to the historical record. It is usually difficult for beginner journalists to get media jobs, and, because of this, job seekers will sometimes do anything just to have some experience. This means that they can be subject to fraud.

In Queensland, the Federal Circuit Court ordered Touchpoint Media to pay $570,000 as they underpaid twenty three journalists.

Judge Tony Young stated this in his judgement:

“I am satisfied that there was an element of exploitation involved with young employees that would have been less likely to occur with older or more experienced employees.”

Some media companies may not even feature work experience journalists when it comes to photo credit or article drafting, so the author of the article could be the journalist who worked with the work experience student.

The media can be restricted in terms of what they can report on by the government. People who work for the government can even infiltrate the media. People from intelligence agencies have, in the past, employed journalists to collect information from media companies, and sometimes even disseminate misinformation to lead the public astray. This has happened in the US, for example (Operation Mockingbird) where reportedly three dozen American newsmen were either on the payroll or worked in some sort of contract relationship with the CIA beginning from 1973.

On April 27, 1996, the former CIA director who reported on this, William Colby, was found dead in the water after a canoe trip at Rock Point, Maryland. His death was reportedly “accidental”.

The media can even have a really important topic to discuss but not realize its importance by asking interviewees irrelevant questions. For example, Australian Labor politician Bill Shorten’s interview on The Project Australia.

Throughout the interview, Shorten was bringing up serious points, such as this one:

“What people want from me, and what people want from politics in general, is focus on policies that help everyday people.”

But what did one host respond with?

“But, hypothetically, would you think of putting heat lamps in the bathroom?”

Shorten only had less than three minutes to discuss how he is “trying to work out how to avoid another big wipeout, after the Liberals were crushed at the Victorian state election”. Why does irrelevant nonsense need to cut his time to speak? He has an important role as a politician; he helps to run the nation of Australia.

Here is another example of Shorten being asked useless questions during the interview:

Shorten: “Tell you what, the numbers on me were the same before the state election as they are now. But we’re doing pretty well. We’re doing well because we focus on people. More and more i’ve decided between now and the election, talk less about the government and more about the people. People just want us to get on with our jobs, and when your kids can’t get an apprenticeship, or your kids in their twenties and thirties are trying to buy their first home and they haven’t got enough for the deposit because the price of housing is high-”

Female host: “What about the'”

Shorten: “That’s what people are worried about, right?”

Female host: “Mr Shorten, well, what about your sausage eating style? Could that play into it? I mean…”

Some, maybe most or all mainstream media companies have access to police radio transmissions. This is to hear live events such as accidents, which is why the media knows where to arrive in order to cover them. The media is allowed to access this audio to check if emergency services are doing their jobs properly, but also to cover crimes done by the public.

There is a large problem with sponsor-media relations in regards to advertising. Sponsors pay media companies if their products are promoted via advertisement sections in newspapers, on the radio, and in television programs. The media benefits from it’s sponsors because they are their only source of income.

YouTuber FriendlyJordies called out Buzzfeed for not reporting on their own sponsor, Streets Icecream, cutting staff wages:

“When earlier this year Streets Icecream attempted to halve it’s staffs wages, which, thanks to the Liberal party is like chicks dying their hair pastel colours, what happened to the workers at Street’s Icecream could now happen to anyone on the wage, and Buzzfeed refused to report on it because Street’s Icecream sponsors Buzzfeed.”

When showing an article titled “Buzzfeed Crew Shocked to Discover They Have Testosterone Level of a 12-Year-Old Boy (Video)”, FriendlyJordies exposes the corruption mentioned above that many media organisations are guilty of doing, by responding with this:

“Think about how amoral these testosterone-deprived gollums must be when they willingly and consistently withhold information of that magnitude from their readers for money.”

This leads to the following question: who owns the media? The owners are not journalists themselves, or the editors who edit the articles, but rather sponsors who have the power to affect what is reported on via capitalism. Other than sponsors, the law also regulates what the media can and can’t do, but if media companies are subject to corporate powers such as the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA), they are protected more.

Rupert Murdoch is an American-Australian media mogul. As the CEO of News Corp, Murdoch controls a media empire comprised of Fox News, The Times of London and The Wall Street Journal. These are just some of the many media companies.

Democrats reject Trumps DACA extension

On Saturday, President Trump offered a fair deal to Democrats, suggesting an extension on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Act, while also offering help to temporary protected status holders in return for the $5.7 billion in funding for the border wall.

Trump said:

“Our plan includes the following: $800 million in urgent humanitarian assistance, $805 million for drug detection technology to help secure our ports of entry, an additional 2,750 border agents and law enforcement professionals, 75 new immigration judge teams…a new system to allow Central American minors to apply for asylum in their home countries and reform to promote family reunification for unaccompanied children, thousands of whom wind up on our border doorstep. To physically secure our border, the plan includes $5.7 billion for a strategic deployment of physical barriers, or a wall. This is not a 2,000-mile concrete structure from sea to sea. These are steel barriers in high priority locations.”

Adding that the plan includes “3 years of legislative relief” for all DACA recipients it will “give them access to work, permits, Social Security numbers, and protection from deportation,” plus 3 years of TPS extension.

The democrats continue to rally on with their stubbornness despite President Trump trying his best to settle on a compromise in order to reopen government.

“The Government remains shutdown for one reason and one reason only, Democrats refuse to fund border security.” – President Trump

Democrats were offered more than a fair deal yet they refuse to settle on a compromise because their hate for Trump is stronger than their will to protect and serve the American people.

Senator Chuck Schumer and Speaker Pelosi signaled that they would not accept trumps DACA deal through twitter:

Speaker Pelosi responding to trumps proposal said, “Unfortunately, initial reports make clear that his proposal is a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives. It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter. For one thing, this proposal does not include the permanent solution for the Dreamers and TPS recipients that our country needs and supports.”

Speaker Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer need to drop their hate for Trump and work with Republicans in order to re-open the government. We have yet received any effort on the Democrats side.

Trump sweetened the deal on Sunday, announcing on Twitter that we won’t quit his stance on immigration even after a deal was reached to re-open the federal government.

President Trumps presidency was rooted on a promise to the American people that border security will be a top priority and that a border wall will be the solution. Democrats don’t want the president to succeed on his promise. They will do anything to keep Trump from fulfilling his promise.

As long as the vast majority of Americans support President Trump there is no doubt that Trump will secure our borders. The American people back our president and there is nothing democrats can do to change that.

BABIES LIVES MATTER

Over a hundred thousand Americans march in Washington to March for Life. Every year March for Life has a theme, this years was “Unique from day one: Pro-Life is Pro-Science.” We march in the hope that we can affect the change America needs and make the world a safer for the unborn. We march to end abortion in protest in protest of the courts deeply flawed decision and its devastating effect on children and families across the country.

Roe v. Wade is not only unconstitutional but harmful and unjust. 60,000,000+ innocent lives have been legally destroyed since January,22,1973.

The March for life is in its 46th year with a goal of overturning Roe v. Wade above anything else. Abortion is wrong and should be done away with.

Most recently in reverse to the March for Life, the three-year-old Women’s March seems to spew hatred of Donald Trump rather than coming to term with real life issues.

As both movements are similar and different in various ways. Both are a gathering of passionate men and women around the country. Both are attended by hundreds of thousands of people with passionate and famous speakers. However, it begins to differ there.

The values and priorities of the pro-choice, feminist Women’s March is much more diverse rather than being focused on one issue. The Women’s March is run by social justice warrior activists and a mission of focusing on “Environmental Justice” to “LGBTQIA Rights.”

Mainstream media and CNN won’t broadcast this so here Is what we saw at this year’s March For life joined by famous political speakers:

Pro-life protester holds up sign

Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence made an appearance:

Rep. Dan Crenshaw greets the crowds:

How masculinity built society and where Gillette’s staff messed up

Gillette’s new advertisement made 21 million views views on YouTube in just 4 days with a strong 573,000 to 1,000,000 like to dislike ratio. Many feel strongly about the new advertisement, with many men refusing to purchase Gillette products. For a company that caters strongly to men for shaving products, and a slight decreasing number of female clients due to the female anti-shaving movement, it seems strange that such a company would authorize such an advertisement to call the testosterone driven masculinity which makes men be men, toxic. This proposal was introduced by the advertisement agency Somesuch headed by radical feminist and anti-trump advocate, Sally Campbell, with far leftist Kim Gehrig as the film director. Gehrig was identified as a left leaning director by the Daily Mail which shows a string of anti-conservative views. The advertisement portrayed masculinity as a toxic trait which results in bullying, sexual assault, and other violent tendencies. It openly discourages from letting boys be boys, instead teaching them that third-wave feminism is how they should be raised, suppressing all forms of natural biological masculinity.

Suppressing masculinity has never been something encountered mainstream before in history and for good reason. PragerU directed a video which portrayed the benefits of the masculine traits. While leftist point out only the negative consequences, what they fail to realize is the negative consequences and positive outcomes are both of the same tool, it only depends how it’s used. Just like a rifle can be used to take innocent lives, a rifle can also be used to protect lives and provide food to a family. In the same way, masculinity is a tool that shaped society, to make civilization sustainable.  Allie Stuckey of PragerU stated “When you make men less masculine, you get more toxic masculinity. Bad men don’t become good when they stop being men, they become good when they stop being bad.” She goes on to explain that the male psyche has traits viewed toxic such as aggression, violence, and uncontrollable ambition, which can only be harnessed, not eliminated. She further breaks down these traits and how they can be used for bad or good. “In harnessing them correctly, they become tools for good. The masculine trait of destruction can also defeat tyranny. Traits that build greed, can be used to build strong economies. The traits which drive men to take careless risks can drive men to take heroic risks.”

Forcing men to be less masculine causes problems that portray defeating tyranny through power is too violent and rather should be dealt with hopeless dreams and slow, if any, change. Making an argument against peace through struggle would have justified the argument that the United States shouldn’t have stopped the Axis occupation of European and Asian countries or their mass genocides.

It’s easy to see how the left views strong economies, and how they are the epitome of evil, yet they fail to see how much they rely on the strong economy which provides them with the education and privilege to rise to the ivory towers. Ask a leftist how much they spent on their Soy Latte Gluten-Free Vegan Frappuccino with Male Tears Dairy-Free Cream and exploited illegal migrant worker picked cherry. Challenge them how much they spent on their $1,000 dollar child sweatshop worker built iPhone XS 64GB, praising Steve Jobs’s liberalism and innovation, even though he made billions of dollars off the backs of children.

When a man takes a risk, he is considered foolish and stereotyped as a Jock or Redneck by Ivory Tower bound leftists who are too pompous to perform anything risky. How many far left leaning individuals hold jobs/careers involving the military, police, firefighting departments, or emergency medical services? Most of those individuals tend to fall under right wing individuals. These heroic risks that many first-responders and military personnel take each day they do their service are attributed to bravery. While women can also fill these roles, and many do serve their communities honorably in public emergency service as well as the military, they take the same risks men do. However, women tend not to get stereotyped as reckless and risky. Rather, the stereotypical phrase of this goes “This is why women live longer than men”.

Gillette has decided to call the traits that built society from the ground up toxic. These masculine traits, which are responsible for them creating a multi-billion dollar business, are what held society together from the very beginning.

Brazil Elects Their Own Donald Trump, Bolsonaro Starts Presidency Off With Purging Restrictive Gun Laws, and Leftist and Communist Officials

Brazil has elected their own president who is on the path to trumping the Communist influenced officials in Brazilian government offices. With the new right-wing president and former Army Captain Jair Bolsonaro, replacing the former centrist president Michel Temer, who was vice-president to the previously impeached democratic socialist president Dilma Rousseff. Rousseff’s presidency was cut short due to numerous scandals leading to the senate’s decision to impeach her in reaction to the 2015-2016 protests by millions of Brazilians for her role in her political party, Brazil’s Workers’ Party, in taking bribes for contracts in the state owned energy company, Petrobras. This scandal is what ignited the investigations that brought to light many other scandals she Rousseff was involved in, which lead to her impeachment with a 61 out of 81 of the senators voting for her impeachment. Her powers were suspended on May 12th, 2016 and transferred to her vice-president, Temer, who immediately took the role as acting president, then was sworn in on August 31st, 2016 to serve the remainder of the term.

Jair Bolsonaro is a major swing to the right from both previous presidents, and with the strong leftist influence now voted out, the country is seeing immediate change brought upon the newly elected right wing party. While many have been in disfavor with the previously corrupt leftist government, the country has been swept with many changes that many still initially opposed, but are now starting to turn favor, such as gun control. Brazilian gun laws resulted in the lowest legal gun ownership in South America, with the highest gun violence rates. One of Bolsonaro’s policies including relaxing gun control measures to help ordinary civilians have the means to protect themselves. While the left has strongly opposed this proposition, the  general population is increasing in support of this new policy, from back in 2015 with only 30% of polls showing favor to a current poll increasing support to 51%, a significant increase in response to recent years which brought up an influx to the homicide rate. Brazil’s homicide rate hit record high back in 2017 with 32.4 out of 100,000 people were murdered. In contrast, Mexico had a lower crime rate with 25 out of 100,000 people losing their lives by homicide. The United States homicide rate is 5 out of 100,000 people killed back in 2015( the most recent year in which data is available). Bolsonaro vows to loosen the restrictive gun control measures in aims to quell the homicide rate that has been seen on the rise since the 2003 Disarmament Statute, which declined the murder rate 12% in the first 4 years, but then has risen further than before as fewer Brazilians were able to defend themselves from the crime.

Bolsonaro also plans on countering Russian influence over Brazil, calling them “Soviet forces”, by offering to host a U.S. Military base in the country. Not only has this decision been made to prevent post-cold war communist countries, but also for a hopeful cooperation between the United States and Brazil. Bolsonaro calls Donald Trump the “Most powerful man in the world”, and hopes to take example from the U.S. president on rebuilding the military to protect the country from socialism, and political correctness. A meeting between the two leaders is anticipated in the future.

The decision to have a U.S. base in Brazil is one method at reversing the previously democratic socialist dominated government. In the span of a few years the country went from electing Democratic Socialist for the past 4 presidential terms, rapidly to the right after Centrist and vice-president to the former Rousseff, Temer, served the remainder of Rousseff’s second term.

Bolsonaro has started a purge against left-wing government officials, dismissing approximately 300 people with the goal of eliminating centrist and left wing influences on Brazilian politics. President Bolsonaro’s chief of staff, Onyx Lorenzoni calls this “cleaning house” necessary to remove many of these officials who are working on temporary contracts and removing them is vital to “do away with the Socialist and Communist ideas that during 30 years have led us to the chaos in which we live”. The new president is hopeful to keep communism out of Brazil, chanting with the crowd, Brazilian flag in hand, “Our flag will never be red”.

A Look Into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “tippy tops” of Delusion

By: Gabriel E. Miller

Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, was recently interviewed by Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes, she was asked about the policies she wants to implement.

The statement that had heads spinning when Cortez said, “But once you get to, like, the tippy tops– on your 10 millionth dollar– sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60 or 70 percent.” This was in reference to her belief in higher income earners paying their “fair share in taxes”. She then added, ”
That doesn’t mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate, but it means that as you climb up this ladder you should be contributing more.”

This seems to be the rhetoric for many Democratic Socialists, and Liberals throughout the country, the idea of paying the government “your fair share”. For example, Bernie Sanders said during his campaign, “We tell the billionaire class they cannot have it all. For a start, they’re gonna start paying their fair share of taxes.” What those same people don’t seem to understand is, people who are rich in fact do pay for a large amount of tax.

Stephen Moore wrote an article in 2015 for The Heritage Foundation about this false idea. Moore wrote, “Here are the latest statistics from the IRS for 2011. The top one percent earned 19 percent of the total income and paid 35 percent of the federal income tax. So one of 100 shouldered 35 percent of the entire burden.”

Anderson Cooper asked Cortez her thoughts on people’s reactions when they hear the word socialism, and her affiliation with it if she relates with the Soviet Union, Cuba, or Venezuela. Her response was, “Of course not. What we have in mind– and what of my– and my policies most closely re– resemble what we see in the U.K., in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.”

The error with this statement being, that the Nordic Model, Cortez refers to isn’t socialist. Jeffery Dorfman wrote in a 2018 Forbes article, “To the extent that the left wants to point to an example of successful socialism, not just generous welfare states, the Nordic countries are actually a poor case to cite. Regardless of the perception, in reality the Nordic countries practice mostly free market economics paired with high taxes exchanged for generous government entitlement programs.”

Anderon Cooper addressed Cortez’s factual mistakes, he cited the Washington Post had awarded her with four “Pinocchios”. Her response was, “I think that there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.”

What Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t recognize is, as a public speaker and representative of the people, she has the responsibility to provide fair and credible information to her audience. Her preception on right and wrong shouldn’t contradict the objective truth.
